Simon Young Art

In spite of an enthusiasm for oils and watercolours, Simon joined the Army. Being a 'soldier and painter' worked with many subjects to hand. Trouble spots provided interesting painting opportunities; kids tend to suffer in these environments - hence his exhibitions supporting Hope and Homes for Children in Sarajevo and SOS Children's Villages in Ottawa. Travel made oil painting awkward, so sketching and painting in watercolour became the norm stimulating interest in sketching, light, colour, form and perspective. Now time exists to explore what works and what doesn't with this exciting and challenging medium; he also works in acrylic typically for largescale work. He enjoys working to commission ensuring clients are included in their painting’s development; please go to the Contact Section of this website if you want to get in touch.
